Southern Alberta boasts a rich tapestry of golf courses, each offering unique challenges and breathtaking landscapes.

From historic greens to modern designs, the region caters to golfers of all skill levels.

Lethbridge, often referred to as the gateway to golf in Southern Alberta, is home to several notable courses.

Henderson Lake Golf Club, established in 1917, provides golfers with stunning views of Henderson Lake Park and a well-maintained 18-hole course.

For those seeking a private experience, the Lethbridge Golf and Country Club, designed by renowned architect Stanley Thompson, offers a challenging layout that has hosted numerous provincial and national tournaments since 1913.

Recognized among Canada's top 60 golf courses,  Paradise Canyon Golf Resort is set against the backdrop of the Oldman River's coulees.

In 2025, Paradise Canyon was selected to host major tournaments, including the Alberta Men's Amateur Championship, highlighting its esteemed reputation in the golfing community.

For those looking to hone their skills, Evergreen Golf Centre offers state-of-the-art training facilities, including a Toptracer driving range and a par-3 course, making it an ideal spot for both practice and play.

Beyond Lethbridge, Southern Alberta's golf scene continues to flourish.

The Magrath Golf Club, a short drive south, has been a player favorite since 1925, known for its well-manicured fairways and scenic vistas.

North of Lethbridge, the Picture Butte Golf Club offers 27 holes with diverse challenges across its Heritage, Homestead, and Harvest courses.

In Cardston, the Lee Valley Creek Golf Course presents golfers with elevation changes and some of the region's most demanding greens.

While in Cardston, visitors can also explore the Remington Carriage Museum, home to North America's largest collection of horse-drawn carriages.

For those venturing into the Rockies, the Waterton Lakes Golf Club, inspired by Stanley Thompson and constructed in 1929, offers an 18-hole course set amidst the majestic peaks of the Rocky Mountains.

Further west, the Crowsnest Pass Golf Course in Blairmore has recently undergone significant renovations, enhancing its reputation as a premier destination for mountain golf.

In Fort Macleod, golfers can experience a piece of history at the Fort Macleod Golf Course, Canada's first course built between Winnipeg and the West Coast in 1890.

With mature tree-lined fairways and well-kept greens, it offers a blend of history and playability.

Southern Alberta's golf courses are not just about the game; they offer a journey through diverse landscapes, rich histories, and communities passionate about golf.

Whether you're a seasoned golfer or new to the sport, the region promises an unforgettable experience on the greens.
